
Dr Miguel Toribio-Mateas is a clinical neuroscientist and applied microbiologist with extensive experience in the field of gut-brain communication in clinical, industry / R&D, and academic roles. His research into the human microbiome and its ramifications to health and disease is based at the School of Applied Sciences, London South Bank University, where he co-directs an innovative MRes / PhD programme on “Gut Microbiome Science and Application” with research colleague Adri Bester. Having developed as a transdisciplinary researcher-practitioner over nearly 3 decades, Miguel's focus is on the translation of research findings into real world, practical applications that are both useful and pleasurable for people of all walks of life. That’s what drives his creative thinking process as Head of R&D at Chuckling Goat / Ana’s Farmacy, two UK leading business in the functional / fermented foods / direct-to-consumer microbiome testing industry.
